Four experiences, is a whole season.
Starting in 2026, we will expand our offering in Mettmenstetten significantly. Strawberries in two Crops, including cherries, and blueberries to pick your own – the Sunnehof in Mettmenstetten (Zurich) from may to October season.
01 / First Harvest
Strawberries
At the beginning of may until the end of may
Season opening – aromatic Swiss strawberries from foil-protected tunnel-culture. In this time, the strawberry overlaps harvest with the first cherries.
02 / early summer
Cherries
At the beginning of June until the Beginning of July
Sweet Swiss cherries straight from the tree, protected under the rain umbrella. Also dry in bad weather is a classic summer experience picking – on the Sunnehof in Mettmenstetten.
03 / Second Strawberry Harvest
Strawberries
10. August to 10. September
A second crop in parallel to the blueberries – a pleasure, when elsewhere in the end. Only thanks to our new mounting system.

Each Berry by the customer picked.
On all self-picking fields that we know, read the farmers first "1.-Class-ab berries" – the most beautiful, largest of the pieces. What remains may take the picker:on the inside.
At us it is different. The first to the last berry is picked by our Customers:on the inside.
Our personal attitude: A natural product is a natural product, not always the same rod is at a premium. Large berries look beautiful, are often less sweet; small berries are less spectacular, usually aromatic. Nature compensates for every "flaw" self. Quality classes are a construct of the wholesale produce food waste and farm prices. You need no one does.

Important: Before each visit, short-Info-phone 044 776 86 03 call. There, you will hear a daily basis, whether the box is opened, whether berries are there. On Sundays we open it only if we have too many ripe fruits – even the you know at the Info-phone.

Own vessel to bring or us (for a small fee) apply. The weight of the empty spot on the field, weigh and record.

Pick
The sight and enjoy the ripest berries to pick out from. Not between the rows of race, dams should not exceed. The Taste of a berry is not allowed, snacking, however.
Pay
In the farm shop at the house, the berries weigh-in and pay – TWINT or Bar. The weight of the container is subtracted.
Enjoy
Fresh or process it in a cool (not in the fridge!) store. Flavor-tip: the berries keep 2-3 days Fresh, if the stem when Picking stay tuned.

Will be paid according to the weight – in the farm shop. A lot of pluck to benefit from our price gradation. Cash and TWINT is accepted. Our picking container will be charged a fee.

Most of us, you bring your own container to the best of the 6-kg box from the last visit. If you don't have mithat can buy containers. We set them off, so not a hundred little fruit cups are dirty, no one needs. Tare weight is subtracted.

~75 Min. from Zurich HB. Main Route South to the Türlersee and more through the Säuliamt. Nice track for a summer weekend with a fruit basket in your Luggage.

What you should know before your visit.
/01 When you can pick on the Sunnehof strawberries yourself?
Starting in 2026, we offer two strawberry harvests per year. The first harvest starts, typically in mid-may and lasts until the beginning of July. The second harvest will follow in September and October. Current picking conditions, refer to our home page and in the Newsletter.
/02 You can strawberries in the rain to pick?
Yes. Our strawberries grow in the eight major film tunnel. So, you can pick in the rain, dry, and protected during the hot days of direct sunlight. A special plastic film ensures that it is in the Tunnel even more pleasant than under the open sky.
/03 Where is the strawberry box, in Mettmenstetten?
The Sunnehof is located in Mettmenstetten (Canton of Zurich, Säuliamt) – 25 minutes by car from Zürich HB, and well with the S-Bahn (S5/S14) away. Exact directions under "location & directions".
/04 What can you pick the Sunnehof in addition to strawberries?
In the longer term, we offer blueberries to pick your own (second harvest), as well as fresh rhubarb in the farm shop. In the farm shop you will also find our year-round range of products: meat from our own production, spirits, and our new alcohol-free Quittecco.
/05 We need our own containers to Pick?
You are welcome to bring their own container that is sustainable and mostly practical. On-site containers are also available. In the settlement, the weight of the container is subtracted.
/06 Children and dogs are allowed on the strawberry field?
Children are welcome – a day on the Sunnehof is an experience for the whole family. Dogs are allowed to tunnel out of hygienic reasons, not in the Film.
